The objectives of this outcome are set forth to ensure that a student will analyze events, situations, materials, and products in order to identify relevant questions or problems; develop and implement strategies to answer the questions or solve the problems; seek out new information and skills; and analyze results.
Boat Project
In Physics class one thing that was required to be learned was the principles of flotation. We learned about how an object stays afloat. We were assigned a project that required us to figure out how to make a boat that floated and followed different requirements. Some of the requirements were the length, how the boat was powered and it had to make it from start to finish. We were allowed more then one trial, but we had to figure how to make the boat work. This project required us to problem solve and think on how to get our boat to work.

Immigrants Chinese, Japanese, Mexican and Asian people all here different ethnic backgrounds but how many of them are actual legal citizens of the United States. There are millions of illegal immigrants in the United States that sneak through border control. Illegal immigrants take jobs by offering lower wages from American Citizens making it hard for U.S. Citizens to get jobs. Illegal aliens of the United States cause economic hard ships for some citizens in the United States by using up tax payers on there own personal education and for the imprisonment of the illegal immigrants. The immigrants influence drugs by smuggling them into the country and increase the amount of drug usage in the United States. Immigrants increase the amount of violence in the community and take up space in are prison cells (Dark Side). Though some companies and businesses benefit there are also a lot more disadvantages that come with accepting illegal immigrants into the country. Illegal immigrants need to be deported or they will be given the choice to be come legal citizens (ProCon). Deporting and Amnesty will help benefit the economy by decreasing violence and economy hardship.
Illegal immigrants take jobs away from legal United States citizens (Procom). One of the main reasons why people want to come to the United States is to find jobs. One of the biggest problems with the United States is the unemployment rate has drastically increased in the past decade making the amount of jobs available for American citizens to be very scarce. With the Unemployment rate of natural born citizens being at 9.7% of the nations population (Unites States Department of Labor). With this being one of the highest unemployment rates in a long time and With illegal immigrants coming and competing against United States citizens for jobs it is harder to compete with people that are willing to be played lower prices. Many times the illegal immigrants will be willing to work lower class factory jobs that are typically given lower pay. As employers they are willing to hire illegal immigrants for less pay even knowing that they are not legalized citizens. As more illegal immigrants take our jobs there are less jobs available for citizens of the United States and also making it very hard to get a job.
An illegal immigrant causes economic hardship for the United States economy. Illegal immigrants who work as underground employees many times do not pay taxes. There are some immigrants who pay taxes but that is most the time is very little since they come from having very little knowledge or having no former work experience. As of the year 2005 as a whole illegal immigrants only contribute to less then 1% of taxes paid nationally and average on costing the federal treasury 58% of taxes (Steven). Even though most illegal immigrants pay no or little taxes they cost the government billions of dollars through government funded programs. Many illegal aliens benefit from government expenditures that to education, medical and criminal justice. Illegal immigrants cost government any where from eleven billion dollars to twenty-two billion dollars annually through government expenditures (procon.org). Millions of illegal immigrants not only come and take jobs from U.S. citizens but also take taxpayers money and use it for their own personal usage through their medical needs and for there own personal education. Illegal immigrants use the money provided by taxpayers making it go towards different things where it could be spent in a positive way and help go towards the economy and society.
Figure A
On March 23, 2010 111 illegal immigrants were arrested in two different incidents (incidents). In southern Arizona the border control found two different incidents were they found a group of people trying to snack across the border they then captured and arrested the civilians such as in the picture to the side Figuare A. There are thousands more that sneak across the border but never get caught. Along with the immigrants that sneak there way through border control there are many problems that come along with them such as drugs and violence. The amount of drug traffic that goes through the United States would be decreased if there were less illegal immigrants coming through the border (Dark side). Most of the drug traffic comes from Mexico through the border illegally (Darkside) If there was less drug marketing in the United States it would help decrease the amount of drugs and violence brought into the environment. With illegal immigrants responsible for bringing in and distributing drugs in the American society and accounting for more then 72,000 or 55% of the annual drug related charges in the United States (Federal). With the illegal immigrants taking up space in our jail cells using up federal funded money provided by U.S. citizens that many of who did not contribute to the funding. If illegal immigrants were forced to either become American citizens or go back to their country then the amount of violence in the United States would decrease.
Some companies and business benefit from illegal immigrants. Many companies such as credit card companies along with colleges are lacking finances and find it a positive thing to accept illegal applicants. As of March 19, 2010 the North Carolina State Community College Board accepted applicants of illegal immigrants making it so they can now attend college this following fall ("Vote Allows Illegal Immigrants Admission into College"{College}). Making it so now that illegal immigrants can now attend only fewer than two conditions that they have to pay out of state tuition and that it could be denied by legislative at any time. Allowing illegal immigrants into college would help increase the amount of money brought in along with credit card companies, banks, real estate and others. Some companies do indeed already accept illegal applicants such as Bank of America ("Credit Cards for Illegal Immigrants"). Bank of America along with other companies only has few restrictions to accepting illegal immigrants. Bank of America will only accept applicants if they have ITIN numbers and who don't have either a social security number or a credit history. The illegal immigrants that are attending colleges, buying house and opening bank accounts are not the kind of people that have a negative affect on society. All illegal immigrants should have to go through the amnesty process and became American citizens before they get the right to own houses, use the banks and attend colleges.
The illegal immigrants not only increase drug traffic but also influence violence. The illegal immigrants break the laws and then stay in the United States jails and prisons using tax dollars. Costing the State prisons an estimate of $624 million and $891 million to the federal prison (Federal). Along with increasing drug and violence in the U.S they also cause many different problems in the United States. Not all illegal immigrants have a negative influence on society some buy houses, attend college and pay taxes but they will too have to follow the same rules and regulations of the other illegal immigrants. Illegal immigrants will not be automatically deported back to their homeland. The illegal immigrants should be given the option to go through amnesty and become natural citizens of the United States (ProCon). As long as the illegal immigrants go through the natural process and become natural citizens and follow the rules of the United States they should be able to stay here and live. Illegal immigrants that do not follow the law or refuse to become legal citizens will be deported back to where they came from. All people should have the right to become United States citizens but if they refuse to take the responsibilities that come with the duties of being a United States citizen then they should be denied that right and then be deported back to there homeland.
There are millions of illegal immigrants in the United States. The illegal immigrants take the small mans jobs away by being paid less making it harder for American citizens to get the job. The illegal immigrants cause economic hardships by using taxpayer’s money for their own personal use such as for education and crime (Procom). They are responsible for the amount of drug traffic going through the United States, increasing the amount of drug arrests through out the nation (Darkside). They increase violence in the society and use up taxpayers money by occupying jail and prison cells. Some companies benefit from accepting illegal immigrants such as colleges, banks and mortgage brokers but most of the illegal immigrants are not and the majority has a negative effect on society. There is no way of discriminating between the positive and negative immigrants. The illegal immigrants would thou be allowed to become citizens and go through amnesty as long as they follow the laws, if they do not follow the rules they should be deported back to there homeland (ProCon). By making the illegal immigrants go through amnesty it will help feed out the illegal immigrants that have a negative affect on society and decrease the amount of drugs and violence in society. It will also increase the amount of jobs available for American citizens. Overall it will help benefit the United States and increase the economy.
